FREE Dementia Workshop for Family Carers in Canterbury and Swale

In April 2014, Alison Carter and her mother, Leslie Fenn, piloted a new workshop specifically designed for family carers of people living with dementia in Canterbury and Swale areas.

Following very positive feedback from participants, we have continued to run these workshops on a regular basis - see poster alongside for more details.

What is a Local Dementia Action Alliance?

A Local Dementia Action Alliance (LDAA) is an easy structure for creating a Dementia Friendly Community (DFC). A LDAA is a group of people representing different sectors within an area who have come together to create a DFC alongside local people affected by dementia.

Everyone is welcome to join.

For more information, contact Alison Carter, Chair of Faversham DAA on 01795 597983

Alison also can be contacted about attending the DAA for Canterbury & Ashford which she co-chairs with the Alzheimer's Society.

***Dementia Friends Sessions***

If your organisation would like to arrange a Dementia Friends session to learn a little more about dementia, this can be delivered by an Alzheimer's Society Ambassador.

Alison Carter is an Ambassador along with several others in our LDAAs. Awareness Raising sessions can be provided via Zoom or face-to-face, as preferred.

Just get in touch with us and we would be happy to help you.

It is also possible to undertake the online sessions via the Dementia Friends Website.

All sessions are volunteer-led and free of charge.
