What is a Local Dementia Action Alliance?

A Local Dementia Action Alliance (LDAA) is an easy structure for creating a Dementia Friendly Community (DFC). A LDAA is a group of people representing different sectors within an area who have come together to create a DFC alongside local people affected by dementia.

Everyone is welcome to join.

For more information, contact Alison Carter, Chair of Faversham DAA on 01795 597983

Alison also can be contacted about attending the DAA for Canterbury & Ashford which she co-chairs with Liz Taylor from Alzheimer's Society.

Dementia Action Alliance meetings have continued via Zoom throughout the last year. All are welcome. If you would like to register your interest in attending an online meeting, or in getting involved in dementia friendly communities work, please do get in touch.

Since May 2021, we  also restarted our face-to-face activities to raise awareness about dementia in the local area, with our usual Dementia Awareness Market Stall in Faversham to celebrate Dementia Awareness Week.

***Dementia Friends Sessions***

If your organisation would like to arrange a Dementia Friends session in our area, this can be delivered by a Champion in your LDAA. Since the lockdown, Dementia Friends Champions have been running 'virtual' sessions via Zoom but face-to-face sessions are now possible again also. Just get in touch with us and we would be happy to help you.

It is also possible to undertake the online sessions via the Dementia Friends Website.

All sessions are volunteer-led and free of charge.
