Heralding Robotics!

On 20th November, Alison and Kim attended the 2025 Technology in Homecare Conference in London, which featured talks on the future application of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in home care. Dr. Chris Papadopoulos, one of the speakers, mentioned that in the coming decades, "robots will be as ubiquitous as smartphones today." At No Place Like Home, we have our delightful robotic cat, 'Dorothy or Dot,' which offers benefits such as reducing loneliness, anxiety, and agitation, particularly for older adults or those with dementia. It provides companionship, evokes nurturing memories, and encourages communication without the responsibilities of a real pet. These robotic companions bring comfort, joy, and a sense of purpose through realistic purring, meowing, and movement, enhancing mood and social interaction.
